Site Visit + Is This Right For You

Come and visit the site to see what you think. Scope the surrounding area. See what a great location it is up here on the Farnsworth Hill and how close to town. On your second visit meet me (house designer and next-door-neighbour) to discuss your thoughts, answer questions and continue the process of deciding if this project is right for you.


Purchase Block + House Design

Once you have decided this is right for you we can start the process to purchase the block. The following stages flow from this to the co-creation of your beautiful home and garden.


Consult With Designer + Tailor Project For You 

Now you own the land and have the building permit you you can begin to tailor the house to your specific requirements. Through this process, you select taps, tiles and other fixtures and fittings. Design the lighting, landscaping and allocate space. Do you need two or three bedrooms? Would you like a study or study nook? What style of laundry etc? Giving time to these considerations will make your house special and a joyful place to live. Once the design is done the plans go to the draftsperson to create the working drawings for the builder. If you need help with this process you can employ me or another designer or architect to work with to achieve your desired outcomes.

Sign Contracts + Submit Building Permit

Once the design has been locked down, the final costings can be reconciled and the contract drawn up for you and your lawyer to look over and sign between you and the builder of your choice. During this stage the application for the building permit will be finalised and submitted to the private building surveyor. Choosing a builder can be difficult and I am also available to assist. When the contract is signed and the building permit issued, the construction phase begins.

Construction Phase + Watch It Come To Life

Now the fun part. The building process comences. There are a number of designated stages to this process which you can read more about HERE. With all the careful planning the building phase is designed to be fluid and exciting. Having good moral on site is paramount to me, and to Passive Builders, who ememplify quality and professionalism in all aspects of their work, ensuiring your enjoyment of the build, throught the various stages, on your scheduled site visits.

Move-In + Warranty Period

Once your house is built the warranty period begins. This is a legally designated time where any defects in the building are noted and fixed by the builder before you receive your certificate of occupancy and begin your new life in your new home.
